What is UPBOW Duo?
Hello! We are Courtney Pinski and Xavi Morató, and together we are Upbow Duo. Our paths first crossed during our Masters' studies in New York, where we were both mentored by Grammy-nominated violinist and composer Jeremy Kittel. Through the years, we have sharpened our skills in classical music while exploring other genres like folk, jazz, and pop.
Our music is a unique blend of the classical sound of violin with modern and traditional styles. We love to combine violins, voice, and electronics to create an array of soundscapes and colors in our performances.
As a duo, we complement each other's strengths to create music that reflects our backgrounds. Our goal is to deliver an authentic and intimate performance that inspires our audience. We are thrilled to share our music with the world and appreciate your interest in getting to know us. Thank you!
About the tour
After spending two years in New York, we decided to take a journey across Europe and America to fully immerse ourselves in various cultures and lifestyles. Our goal is to use these experiences as inspiration for new music while we share our music with people from all over.

About the Show
Our main show as a duo is about 1 hour long and we perform our original music plus some pop and Jazz covers using our violins, voice, and backing tracks. However, we have a long list of song options, so if your venue needs more music, we can be playing until you stop us!
On the technical side, all we need in the hall is a sound system that allows us to plug a microphone, 2 pick ups for the instruments, and an extra input for our backing tracks (Aux or 1/4 inch cable).
But also we can adapt to any situation and equipment, just let us know what is possible and we'll go from there.

Courtney Pinski
Violin, voice
Courtney Pinski is a multi-style violinist, singer, and composer originally from Gilbert, Arizona.
She received her Bachelors in Violin Performance from the
University of Arizona under Tim Kantor and her Masters in Multi-Style Violin from New Jersey City University under Jeremy Kittel.
Upon graduation from her bachelors, Courtney performed with different bands and projects in the US and abroad, highlighting the opportunity to headline a benefit concert in Shenzhen, China in a violin-piano duo that performed classical pieces, pop music, and traditional/self-composed fiddle tunes.
Most recently, Courtney has been living and teaching in the New Jersey/New York area and has her first EP coming out this summer. She is also still composing, arranging, recording, and preparing for her European tour with Upbow this fall.
Xavi Morató
Violin
Xavi Morató is a multi-style violinist, composer, and producer born in Valencia, Spain, and currently based between the cities of Valencia and New York.
Xavi has extensive training and experience in both classical and modern music, graduating from the conservatories of Valencia, Antwerp, and New Jersey University. He has performed with all kinds of different groups from orchestras to Jazz bands and has toured Europe, China, and Perú.
Over the last year, Xavi's main focus has been on recording strings for movie music and singers, highlighting Lewis Capaldi (Pointless, Wish You The Best, 2022), Bebe Rexha, Emily Vaughan, and Gurpreet Chattha among others.
